Welcome! I'm Lindy Thackston and I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I beat stage 3 rectal cancer in April 2021 but was just diagnosed with cancer that metastasized to my left lung in September 2021.
I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer during the pandemic on May 6, 2020.
I anchor the FOX 59 Morning Show from 4-7 a.m. and am an announcer at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
I love spending the rest of my time with my husband Chris and our 5-year-old son Lachlan.
I've spent the last 20 years working in Indiana, Florida and Illinois, and traveling for many of those as an IndyCar pit reporter while taking a break from news. I was raised in Frankfort, Indiana and studied Broadcast Journalism at Purdue. I've worked at WSIL, First Coast News, WLFI, WTHR, FOX 59, the VERSUS Network, NBCSN, TV Guide Network and more.
Right now I'm sharing my story in short, easy-to-listen-to podcasts in hopes of answering the many questions I've been asked during my fight and helping others catch cancer early. I was diagnosed at 39-years-old with no risk factors and no family history.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or need support! Shoot me an e-mail or a message through any of my social media channels.
